This was the talk used for the Relief Society and Elders Quorum meeting today at the ward we visited in Aubra, Ghana. I shared the talk from my page so you may see some highlights of my favorites parts. This talk is good in reminding us about the health of our spiritual eyes.
I certainly see God's hand in my life,
even with all the mess that it has been in at times. I know that it is only
through him that I was able to come out of those messes more of like the
daughter of God He wants me to be.
I see his blessings in my life. I see
his love in my life. I see the times that must have been hard for a Father to
watch as he had to let his daughter continued making the wrong choice and joy
he must have felt as he watched her allow Him to lead her in better choices. I
see the times when he waited for her to put her trust in Him. I see how he has
placed good people in my life to help even when I didn't know or just didn't
have to strength to ask. I've seen him wait for my pride to become His will. I see
the wisdom and love in allowing daily repentance for what some call the small
things, but it's the small things that will do you in. I see a kind and loving
Heavenly Father who just wants all His children to come home. I see the perfect
example of unconditional love. I see that He loved me, and you, enough to take
us as we were, but even more to help us change to become better versions of
ourselves. I see the need to love they brother and to be thy brother's keeper.
I see the need to have God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost take the main lead
in my life. I see that my strengths and my joys come through my faith and my
desire to serve Him. I see that I am a child of God. I see that even with all
the messes in my life God wants me, us to experience joy in this life. I see
that working to have His will be my will is hard sometimes, I am human after
all, but I see that it is only because of His great love for me, and you, that
He helps us so we can truly have joy and happiness in our lives - even through
all the messes.
I see that serving a mission allows me
to try my best to be a good disciple (follower) of Jesus Christ - and in my
daily life prior to. I see how flying across the world to serve people I didn't
even know was an act of love on God's part for them and for me, and I see that
it is an act of love and willingness to serve Him on my part.
I am grateful to have the gospel of
Jesus Christ in my life. I'm grateful for the gift of sight physically, but
more importantly spiritual sight.
Check out the talk, you'll enjoy it.
I love and miss you all!
